Washington D.C.-based Kit Check has just raised around $10.4 million to help hospitals keep a track on where its drugs are.

It is the first time that Kit Check has been involved in any form of corporate funding since it began working in the health sector in the spring of 2012.

Financial assistance came from a number of corporate enterprises including Lion Bird, New Leaf Venture Partnership, Easton Capital Investment Group and Sands Capital Ventures.

Kit Check has worked tirelessly to get the sales force, delivery teams, and production lines in place to meet the expected demand.

So, what exactly does Kit Check do? The company has engaged in modern technological-based ventures by making Cloud software, which also happens to use state of the art radio frequency identification. The software, with its radio frequency ID keeps an eye on the hospital’s pharmacy kits. When the kits are due for replenishment, the software will send out a reminder.

Pharmacy kits, as any doctor or nurse will tell you, are placed strategically at several points all around every hospital and some clinics, so that nurses can quickly administer health aid to patients as and when required. The software that has now been produced by Kit Check aims to replenish the kits as and when is deemed necessary. It claims it will improve replenishment times by as much as 90 per cent
